The preemptive no.

April 14, 2009

I have not mastered the preemptive no. I don’t think I will ever master it, I don’t have enough imagination to predict what the cherubs will decide to do next and the last thing I want to do is give them ideas on things that they could but shouldn’t be doing.

Today I found Wrigglebot ‘washing his car’, he had pulled out all the baby wipes and was meticulously cleaning his big electronic car. I wasn’t impressed but had to smile at the same time. I told him it only takes one wipe to clean his car because of water restrictions.

Yesterday I was feeding Squirm when I felt Wrigglebot crawl up behind me. That was fine, it is not unusual but then I heard scissors opening and closing, that’s when I panicked. He was ‘cutting my hair’ but luckily he isn’t so good with the scissors yet and there was no damage.  The more time I spend with my children the more I realise that I do not have a child’s imagination and hence I am at a distinct disadvantage when it comes to combatting their dastardly deeds.
