Wrigglebot has discovered a Big Bird puppet that used to be Husband’s. I thought he would just play with it for an hour or so and then be over it. Not to be. Not only did he insist that I have it on my hand the entire day, he would talk to Big Bird, read to Big Bird and Big Bird had to talk to him and watch him play. I’m not very good at puppets, I’m not very funny and I can’t do voices, truly I am not a very entertaining person but Big Bird was a hit and continues to be. Big Bird even had to watch a movie with him and so I sat there arm in the air until my hand had pins and needles and I could bear it no more.

The only upside to his adoration to the Big Bird puppet is that I have control over what Big Bird says and often Big Bird likes clean rooms and boys to have naps. Just a warning to you mothers, puppets seem like a fun idea for kids but you have to know in advance that you will be the primary puppeteer and therefore be stuck with an extra appendage until the phase is over which hopefully is not too long.
