‘Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum’

January 6, 2009

I always looked forward to Wrigglebot talking thinking that we would be able to have in-depth conversations on the nature of the world. It didn’t quite work that way. I have discovered that language at its most basic is just a way to get what you want more easily. ‘ Mum, Mum, Mum…juice pease.’ ‘Mum, Mum, Mum… me swim.’ ‘Mum, Mum, Mum, wake, wake, Mum.’  I have even discovered Wrigglebot talking in his sleep, he never stops. And though I love to hear him talk there are times when I wish for silence.

With the talking becoming incessant I have also had to take on another job as full time translator for people who can’t understand that, ‘No Wsome, me cars.’ means ‘No Winsome, those are my cars and I would like to play with them.’ And though his vocabulary is extending it still consists mostly of ‘No’ and ‘Don’t’ and growls of all kinds and descriptions, oh and food words, he mastered those very quickly I’m not really sure why. Squirm is also starting to make different sounds,  we thought with her being a girl she may make different sounds but she has learnt off her older brother and has begun growling. I think I am just going to feel like I live in a zoo for the next few years, a prehistoric zoo with dinosaurs attacking each other, marking their territory and demanding food.
