Oh the dreaded singing
Hi there, my name is Amy and I am now the exhausted but proud mother of Milla Reese who is 10 weeks young.
As a first time mother I have certainly got a lot to learn and just when I think I have life under control, my little darling decides to change things all over again.
I look forward to sharing my stories with you and I hope you enjoy them.
For the 37 weeks I carried Milla, I desperately wanted my husband to read up on the ins and outs of pregnancy, child birth and the first few months with baby. My husband is an educated man but loathes reading anything beyond a menu and his cycling magazines. I was disappointed in his lack of enthusiasm as I felt that he wasn’t taking a vested interest in our little miracle. I was then to discover through discussions with friends and family that a man reading a pregnancy text is extremely hard to come by!
It was only a few blurry weeks back that the light bulb went off in my head…I went to the toilet and planted (no, not what you’re thinking) ‘Baby Love’ beside the toilet and removed the latest issue of Mountain Biking Australia.
It was only the next day that my marvellous plan of attack came into fruition!
“Did you know…you should talk and sing to your newborn as much as possible as it helps with their vocabulary in later life?†my husband called over the sound of the toilet flushing.
“Really? How ‘bout that,†I smirked.
Unfortunately, my clever plan came back to bite me on the bum as each and every day from there on my husband used every opportunity to sing ever-so off tune, at the top of his lungs, to our darling girl.

Welcome to the MrWrigglebott website. I’m sure I will enjoy hearing news of Milla and, hopefully, writing will give you an opportunity to express your joys and frustrations (because you will be sure to have both!!).
Believe me, there are so many precious things you forget as children get older; the only way to remember them is to write them down as they happen. I’m sure Milla will enjoy reading your reflections when she is older also.
I am Wrigglebott’s Nanna and although I don’t regularly read ‘Chelle’s blog, when I do go on the website, I enjoy reading all the ones I have missed.
This one had me laughing, and they say laughing is good for the soul, so thank you.
