Strange Noises.

November 1, 2007

Wrigglebot is into strange noises at the moment, as I write this he is alternating between growling and squealing in his bed (trying not to sleep). I don’t understand what his noises mean. He is fed, warm, not in pain, has a clean nappy on, I think he is just experimenting with his vocal cords.  Husband always does say that boys are inherently better at sound effects than girls and from my experience this observation has almost always proved correct. And so I wonder when Wrigglebot establishes a proper vocabulary of words, not just sounds, will he still enjoy making sounds and will this next baby, a girl, go through this same stage of experimenting with vocal gymnastics?

I will be interested to see, though I do hope that they are not in the same stage at the same time or else my house really will sound like a zoo.

  1. Yes girls do make those funny sounds – at least Katie does! It’s absolutely hilarious – I just imitate back her jargon, squeals, shrieks and snorts. I’m looking forward to when they can really start talking and at least something becomes a bit more meaningful!
