Mummy Days.

June 11, 2007

Wrigglebot has been having some Mummy Days recently, days when he only wants me all the time. At first it is kind of nice but then it gets annoying as you try and do everything with little arms wrapped around your legs. His top two teeth are finally coming through so I think this has caused his recent attachment as well as the trail of drool that he leaves behind him.

Husband says, ‘Oh, he loves you so much more than me.’ And I feel like saying, well of course he does, I’m the one who is with him most of the time, who bathes him, who changes him, but most of all I am the one who feeds him and that is what he cares about most at this stage. Instead though I say, ‘Don’t be silly, of course he loves you.’ And Wrigglebot does love his Dad but he doesn’t rely upon him to meet all of his survival needs.

So it is nice to feel wanted and needed but I am looking forward to being able to walk without an extra appendage.

  1. I think it’s that added appendage that makes house work ten times more troublesome. I myself am not a fan (although I am kind of…) I love being loved, and the physical contact, but it does get a little tiring when something needs to be stirred on the stove top while something else needs to be chopped on the bench and inbetween stirring and chopping you have to add toddler-removal to the list of immediate chores. It’s fun.
