Mothers and fathers shopping with baby.
My husband has just discovered the joys of shopping with a baby. Now I know a lot of you might be thinking, narrow corridors, pram jams and unresponsive wheels but no, I wasn’t being sarcastic there are inherant advantages for a man with a pram. My husband has never found it easier to have females approach him and start a conversation. He didn’t have to do anything and they came, much like the Pied Piper. He loved it.
It seems women find men who are able to handle the responsibility of a baby very attractive, even sexy maybe. A woman with a baby is commonplace, generally not sexy at all. I mean there is very little that is attractive about a woman who is sleep deprived, smells of baby vomit, invariably has ill-fitting clothes and seems to have lost her ability to carry on a coherant adult-level conversation. For women everything they do with a baby is something they must do but with a man it is perceived that he is choosing to help out.
When I go out these days (and it isn’t all that often) I constantly get asked, ‘Is your husband babysitting tonight?’ As if he is doing some great service to me and should be rewarded. I must state here that he doesn’t feel like this, he just does it because that is what he needs to do. When he goes out he never gets asked if I am babysitting, if anything they just ask if I am at home. I really appreciate my husband, he is such a good father and husband and he helps me out heaps, oh wait, that kind of defeats my argument, he contributes equally to the care of our baby which is as it should be. I’m still glad he enjoys shopping with Mr Wrigglebot though because frankly I’d rather he do it than me.

Personally, I think that I have never looked sexier than when I have bags under my eyes and a permanent vomit splat on my left shoulder. I don’t understand why men don’t hunt me down.
Chad finds the same attention when he “attractively” wanders the shops looking for this or that… When I wander the shops I get icy glares for not getting out of peoples way fast enough.
