More on the baby and food.
So I am no paragon of domesticity but one thing that I have managed to master is baby food. Let me state from the outset that I am not a cook, husband cooks all of our meals as he enjoys doing it, and so it came as a surprise to me that baby food became my forte. I think it has helped Wrigglebot that my cooking is very simple and at times very bad. Let me explain, when I first began making his food I tried all kinds of conbinations of vegetables, possibly the worst being zucchini and carrots, it tasted disgusting but he ate it and ever since he has eaten everything that I have put in front of him.
He has a very basic diet, weetbix for breakfast then yoghurt or banana or scrambled eggs or a toasted cheese sandwich for lunch and then dinner is always a combination of vegetables, at the moment it is sweet potato with carrot, broccoli and peas. I have a baby food making morning where I grab whatever vegetables are in my fridge throw them in our bamboo steamer for about an hour and then chuck them in the processor, they then get frozen in individual serves. I make about eight meals at a time and it saves me a lot of time during the week, not to mention money on baby food.
Every time my mother feeds Wrigglebot and sees and tastes a little of his vegetable mash she can’t help but remark on the irony that the son of one of the pickiest eaters ever as a child is such a prodigious eater of anything and everything. So this is my one victory on the domestic front, hopefully there will be more to come.
